Privacy Policy

Scutum France thanks you for visiting its website. We attach great importance to the protection and security of any personal data that you may transmit to us when using our site. This is why we are committed to protecting your privacy and treating your data confidentially.

Also, you have certain rights regarding the use of your data (access, modification, deletion, opposition to processing, etc.) that you can exercise directly with our DPO. To find out more about your rights, please refer to paragraph 10 of our Privacy Policy, which is dedicated to this.

To exercise them (subject to proving your identity), you can contact the Data Protection Officer, appointed by Scutum France to deal with issues relating to the protection of your data:

  • by email at dpo@scutum.fr;
  • or by post by writing to the attention of the Data Protection Officer of Scutum France, 21 bis rue du Pont des Halles 94536 RUNGIS CEDEX - France.

All other useful information (third parties accessing data, relations with our service providers, transfer in certain cases of your data outside the European Economic Area, etc.) can be found in the following paragraphs of our Privacy Policy, which we hope you enjoy reading.

  1. Scope of application

This Privacy Policy applies to the scutum-group.com website and all its sub-domains ("the Website" or "the Site"). It is specific to the processing carried out on this site.

It applies to all staff of Scutum France and any of its subcontractors, wherever they are located in the world.

  1. What is personal data?

Personal data is any information relating to a person who is either identified or identifiable directly or indirectly. For example, your name, the pseudonym you use online, your photo, your address, your telephone number, etc., are personal data.

Information that does not allow us to establish a link with your person is not personal data.

  1. What data are we likely to collect and process?

You can consult most of the pages of the Site without declaring your identity. If you wish to ask a question using our contact form, we will ask you to provide certain data enabling us to identify you, including your first and last names, your email address, your telephone number and the country concerned, so that we can reply to you. We will indicate with an asterisk (*) the data that is essential for us to be able to process your request and respond to your queries. The same applies if you wish to sign up to receive our Scutum France newsletter.

In addition, as we are keen to attract talent from all backgrounds, we have created pages dedicated to employment at Scutum France. If you are interested in our job offers, we offer you the opportunity to create an account by entering additional personal information so that you can apply for vacancies at Scutum France. Further information on the collection, processing and use of your personal data by Scutum France will be provided to you during registration, as part of a dedicated Privacy Policy.

In addition, when you access information on our Site, data enabling possible identification is recorded on our servers (for example the date, time and pages consulted, as well as your IP address) to enable you to access the requested page or for security reasons. At the end of the session, this data is either deleted immediately, anonymised so that it can be analysed statistically, or kept for a period of 12 months (if necessary for security reasons).

Finally, cookies may be deposited on your browser on this occasion. For more information, please read our dedicated paragraph 6.

  1. What does Scutum France process and use your data for?

We use your data for the following purposes:

  • for system security reasons (on IP logs, in order, for example, to prevent any computer attack via an overload of our servers);
  • in order to design a more fluid and ergonomic site, allowing you to find relevant information more easily. To do this, we need to know, for example, which page has been consulted and when, which page is the most frequently visited, etc. Analyses are carried out for this purpose using the "Google Analytics" tool (see paragraph 9 below);
  • in order to be able to reply to you if you contact us (we thus keep a record of the messages you send us and our replies, so that we can provide you with an optimised service if you contact us again);
  • in order to process job applications for positions in our company;
  • in order to send you our newsletters if you so wish;
  • more generally, for commercial prospecting purposes.

Your personal data will only be processed and used for other purposes where you have given your consent or where consent is presumed. Without such consent, your data will not be used for advertising purposes, for example. You have the right to revoke this consent at any time, using the options offered to you on our communication media or, in general, by writing to Scutum France's Data Protection Officer at the address given in the preamble to this Policy.

Scutum France only processes your data for as long as it is necessary for the purposes for which it was collected. At the end of this period, the data is either deleted or irretrievably anonymised.

  1. Is your data transmitted to third parties?

Your personal data is stored either in our database and on our server, or where applicable on the servers of a subcontractor responsible for data processing.

Scutum France being a member of a global group, the teams responsible for processing your data may be located in many countries, including outside the European Economic Area in States whose level of protection of personal data is not equivalent to that existing in the EEA. This is for example the case for the host of our Website.

In this case, Scutum France will ensure that these internal or external teams are subject to obligations similar to those existing in the EEA, for example via standard clauses or binding corporate rules.

We would also point out that, in the case of use of social modules or your Facebook or LinkedIn account, the social networks in question may have access to some of the information (see below for more information).

Please note that, if we are acquired or merge with another company, or if there is a restructuring of the group, there will be a transfer of your personal data to the new entity. If this were to happen, we would apply the same rules as set out in this Policy to your personal data and your rights in relation to its use.

Under legal guidelines, however, we will be obliged in certain cases to pass on your personal data to third parties, for example in the event of suspected infringement, or misuse of our Site. In such cases, we are obliged to pass on your data to the competent authorities.

Our Website contains hyperlinks to the websites of other service providers. If you click on these links, you will be redirected to the websites of these providers. You will notice this, among other things, by the change of URL. We accept no responsibility for the confidential treatment of your data by these service providers, as we have no influence on their privacy policy.

  1. Use of cookies

We use cookies to make visiting our Site more interesting and to enable the use of certain additional functions. Cookies are text files that are deposited on the user's computer when they visit a site.

For example, we use:

  • "Session cookies": they remain stored in your browser only during your browsing session, i.e. until you leave the Site;
  • "Persistent cookies": they remain in your browser after the session (unless you have deleted them);
  • "Performance cookies": they collect information about your use of the Site, such as web pages visited and error messages, but the information collected is aggregated so that it is anonymised: these cookies do not collect information about identified individuals. They are used to improve the way a website works;
  • "Functionality cookies": they enable the Site to remember the choices you make on the Website (e.g. changes to text size, personalised pages) or activate services such as comments on a blog;
  • "Advertising cookies" linked to the content we make available on the Site.

You can prevent cookies being stored on your computer by changing your browser settings so that cookies are not accepted or so that you are notified before a cookie is stored. However, this may limit the scope of our Internet offering.

  1. Use of Google Analytics

Our Site uses Google Analytics, a web analysis tool based on the use of cookies and owned by Google lnc ("Google"). The Google Analytics cookie enables an analysis of your use of our Website. The information generated by the cookie about your use of this website is generally transferred to a Google server in the United States and stored there. This website uses Google Analytics with the "anonymizelp" extension, which anonymises IP addresses. This anonymisation ensures that Google abbreviates your IP address beforehand within the Member States of the European Union and in the other contracting countries of the Agreement on the European Economic Area, in order to exclude any direct identification of users. In exceptional cases, the full IP address will be transmitted to a Google server in the United States and abbreviated there. At Scutum France's request, Google will use this information to analyse your use of the Site, to compile reports on Site activity and to provide Scutum France with other services relating to the use of its Site and the Internet. Within the framework of the use of Google Analytics, the IP address transmitted by your browser will not be combined with other information held by Google. You can deactivate the use of cookies by selecting the appropriate setting on your browser (see paragraph 6 above). In addition, you can prevent the transmission to Google of the information generated by the cookie and specific to the use of the Website (including your IP address) as well as the processing of this data by Google by downloading and installing the following browser module by clicking on the link:

  1. Use of social plug-ins

Our Site uses the "social plug-ins" of the social networks Facebook, LinkedIn, YouYube and X, belonging to Facebook lnc.. respectively, 1601 S. California Ave, Palo Alto, CA 94304, USA, LinkedIn Headquarters 2029 Stierlin Ct. Ste. 200 Mountain View, CA 94043, USA , X Inc. headquarters, 865 FM 1209, Building 2, Bastrop, TX 78602, USA, Google lnc, 1600 Amphitheatre Parkway, Mountain View, 94043, USA. These social plug-ins can be recognised by their respective logos. When you visit our Site, your browser does not establish any connection via these plug-ins with the servers of Facebook, LinkedIn, Google or X.

In order to protect your data as much as possible when you use our Site, we have integrated these plug-ins in such a way that the connection to the operator of the social network is only established when you activate the plug-in by clicking on the corresponding icon (for example the Facebook "like" button). When the connection is established by activating the plug-in, we have no influence on the extent of the data collected by Facebook, LinkedIn, X or Google. To the best of our knowledge, this includes the following information:

Through interaction with one of the social plug-ins, the operator of the relevant social network receives information about the web page of our Site that you have visited. If at the same time you are connected to a social network, the operator of this social network may also associate the corresponding visits with your social network account. In addition, by activating a social plug-in, for example by clicking on the "like" button or posting a comment, the corresponding information is transmitted to the social network. Even if you are not a member of one of the social networks mentioned, it is possible that they may retrieve and, where applicable, record your IP address via the plug-in when you click on it.

For further details regarding the scope and purpose of the processing, collection and use of data by Facebook, LinkedIn, X and Google, as well as your rights in this regard and configuration options, we invite you to consult the respective privacy policies:

If you are a customer of one of the social networks listed, but do not want it to be able to collect your data from our Website and link it to your user account, you must disconnect from the social network concerned before clicking on a plug-in.

In addition, our Website includes hyperlinks to Scutum France publications on social networks. The companies that publish them provide you, directly on their respective sites, with information concerning the processing of your personal data.

  1. Protection of stored data

Insofar as we collect data, we, or our subcontractor who is responsible for this, store it on particularly secure servers. Access is only authorised to a restricted number of people responsible for technical, commercial or editorial maintenance.

In order to prevent any loss or misuse of data recorded by Scutum France, we take technical and operational security measures that are regularly checked and updated in line with technological developments.

Depending on the typology of the data collected and its purposes, processing is only carried out by authorised personnel in accordance with our confidentiality and security requirements in the constitution of files, exchanges with our partners and subcontractors, and the transfer of this data

  1. Your rights relating to the personal data we record

We remind you that you have the right:

  • To be informed whether we record your data and what data is involved, as well as how your data is processed;
  • To access your data;
  • To object on legitimate grounds to your data being processed and in particular to your data being used for commercial prospecting purposes;
  • To limit certain uses of your data without erasing it;
  • To rectify information which, despite our efforts to maintain a compliant and up-to-date database, would be incorrect, as well as to ask us to delete certain information;
  • To challenge the way in which your personal data is processed;
  • To withdraw your consent at any time (in cases where we rely on your consent);
  • To define directives relating to the fate of your personal data after your death pursuant to article 32 of the law of 6 January 1978.

To exercise these rights (subject to providing proof of your identity), we remind you that you can contact the Data Protection Officer:

  • by email at dpo@scutum.fr ;
  • or by post by writing to the attention of the Data Protection Officer at Scutum France, 21 bis rue du Pont des Halles, 94536 RUNGIS Cedex - France.

We will do our best to answer any questions you may have regarding the processing of your personal data. Despite this, if you are not satisfied with the answers given to you, you may, if you wish, lodge a complaint with the CNIL in accordance with the procedures indicated on its website (https://www.cnil.fr/fr/vous-souhaitez-contacter-la-cnil).

  1. Modification of this Privacy Policy

Scutum France reserves the right to modify this Privacy Policy at any time when necessary, for example due to the introduction of new functions or to comply with new legal provisions.

We therefore invite you to consult it regularly when you visit our Site: it can be consulted at any time by following the "legal notices" link in the footer of all pages of the Site.

If a significant change to our Privacy Policy were to become necessary, we would inform you by any useful means, reminding you of the possibility of deleting your data if the changes made were unfortunately unable to satisfy you.
