What is a Fire Suppression System?
A fire suppression system is an advanced fire protection solution designed to detect and extinguish fires automatically, often before they can spread. These systems are a critical layer of active fire protection, working alongside fire alarms, fire doors and passive fire protection measures to protect people, property and operations.
There are two main categories of fire suppression system used in UK commercial buildings: mechanical sprinkler systems and specialist gas or clean agent suppression systems. Each serves a different purpose and is suited to different environments and risk profiles.
